We will be traveling during your stay with us. However, we will be checking our Airbnb messages several times a day. We also have co-host available nearby to help you with anything you need in person and an on-call maintenance person to handle any other mechanical needs of the house.
For history buffs, the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia was settled in 1683 by Dutch Mennonites and the neighborhood is filled with historic landmarks such as the preserved site of America’s First Papermill and the Continental Army’s Battle of Germantown as well as thousands of stately historic homes representing 17th, 18th and early 20th century architecture. The Chestnut Hill West train line which runs to Center City also has several preserved examples of train stations designed by the famous American architect Frank Furness and the nearby Wissahickon Park has the only remaining covered bridge in the City.
For nature lovers, the extensive trail system of Wissahickon Valley Park offers a wealth of opportunities for hiking, bird watching (designated as an important bird habitat by the National Audubon Society), and even trout fishing in Wissahickon Creek! The steeply wooded gorge of Wissahickon Park is so beautiful that Edgar Allan Poe in 1844, wrote that “the Wissahickon is of so remarkable a loveliness that, were it flowing in England, it would be the theme of every bard, and the common topic of every tongue.” The Park also offers both Mountain biking trails and smooth and easy trails that lead all the way to Center City Philadelphia. We are also a few blocks away from a public library.
Easy on-street parking or there is a dedicated spot in the back. You are also a 2-minute walk to the Carpenter train station which offers regular service (only 28 minute trip) to Philadelphia. You are also a short walk from almost anything you need, including:
• 2 min walk to Carpenter Train Station and regular service to Center City
• 7 min walk to Acme
• 10 min walk to Weaver’s Way Food Coop (like a small community Whole
Foods Market)
• 15 min or less walk to many cafes, pubs and upscale eateries (and Zsa’s Ice
Cream Shop!)
• 15 min walk to Wissahickon Valley Park – one of the most beautiful City
Parks in the U.S.
• Easy train service connection to and from Philadelphia International
Airport
Lastly, SEPTA buses will take you anywhere else you need to do without a car.
We know Mandarin for any guests from China!

We had such a lovely stay at Robert’s place!! Our communications were efficient and helpful, especially as we navigated a change to our itinerary with other family staying in town too. Check in and check out we’re both super easy, and we found everything we needed on hand! The property is gorgeous and we quickly felt at home, traveling with two young kids and my elder mother. Plenty of space to spread out for meals, games, and reading in the cozy “book nook” (as my kids called it). We were visiting my childhood neighborhood, so we’re already very familiar with the area and local food and entertainment options - but flipping through Robert’s info on area attractions was spot on. The convenience to the regional rail stop and downtown is unbeatable!! We will definitely be in touch and hope to stay with Robert again!
We had a lovely stay here. It's a lovely home with three cozy bedrooms, a nice sitting area, and a well-stocked kitchen. The location was convenient for our family activities, but also walking distance from groceries and other shops, restaurants, and bars (with plenty of recommendations provided by the host), and steps away from a train station. Instructions were clear, access was easy, and checkout was simple. Thank you!
Great place. Easy to find. Great hosts to work with. Answered all questions as they arose
